FLECON-6G at SNS4SNS 2026, Sophia Antipolis

The FLECON-6G project actively contributed to Software & Standards for Smart Networks & Services (SNS4SNS) 2026, the technical workshop organised by ETSI and the Smart Networks and Services Joint Undertaking (SNS JU), held at ETSI premises in Sophia Antipolis, France.
On Thursday, 5 February, FLECON-6G was featured in Session 5: “Developer-friendly APIs for Telco”, which focused on openness, programmability, and interoperability as key enablers for future 6G ecosystems.
During the session:
- Konstantinos Ramantas (IQUADRAT) introduced OpenOP, the new ETSI Software Development Group for an open-source operator platform.
- Razvan Mihai and Cristian Patachia (Orange Romania) presented the Network APIs Challenge, covering frameworks, APIs, best practices, use cases, and business opportunities for exposing telco capabilities.
- A panel discussion followed, fostering cross-project exchange on API-driven innovation.
As part of this session, Orange Romania showcased its Module Development Group (MDG), highlighting work grounded in FLECON-6G activities. The presentation demonstrated how FLECON-6G concepts contribute to practical, developer-friendly API exposure and reusable modules for future programmable networks.
Participation in SNS4SNS reinforces FLECON-6G’s commitment to open interfaces, interoperability, and standard-aligned innovation, while strengthening collaboration across the European 6G ecosystem.
