FLECON-6G Held its 3rd Plenary Meeting in Garching, Germany

The FLECON-6G consortium successfully held its 3rd Plenary Meeting on 14–15 July 2026 at the Siemens Technology Center in Garching, Germany. Hosted by Siemens, the two-day meeting brought together representatives from all consortium partners to review the project’s progress, coordinate ongoing activities, and define the roadmap for the next implementation phase.
The plenary featured comprehensive updates from all technical and management work packages, providing an opportunity to assess achievements, discuss challenges, and ensure alignment across the consortium.
The agenda included sessions covering project management and coordination (WP1), system architecture and technical developments (WP2), Smart Marketplace and orchestration technologies (WP3), AI-native algorithms and zero-touch automation (WP4), Proof-of-Concept implementation and validation (WP5), as well as dissemination, communication, and exploitation activities (WP6).
A key objective of the meeting was to strengthen collaboration across work packages as the project progresses from architectural design towards integration, validation, and large-scale demonstration. Emphasis was placed on the integration of the project’s Proofs-of-Concept (PoCs), with partners reviewing technical dependencies, implementation status, and validation plans to ensure seamless interoperability across the different technological building blocks developed within FLECON-6G.
Beyond the technical sessions, participants had the opportunity to visit the Siemens Technology Center laboratories, where they gained insight into Siemens’ advanced research facilities and ongoing innovation activities in industrial communications, automation, and future network technologies. The lab visit provided an excellent opportunity to exchange knowledge and explore synergies between industrial research and the technologies being developed within the FLECON-6G project.
The 3rd Plenary Meeting marked another important milestone for the project, reinforcing the consortium’s collaborative spirit and shared commitment to delivering innovative solutions for future AI-driven, programmable, and federated 6G networks.
