FLECON-6G Demonstrates Immersive Media Innovation at ISE 2026
Barcelona, February 5, 2026 – The FLECON-6G project was prominently featured at ISE 2026 (Integrated Systems Europe), the world’s largest event for professional audiovisual and systems integration. The project was represented through a joint live demo by partners Brainstorm, IQUADRAT, and ISI/ATH, focused on one of the project’s key use cases: Seamless Immersive Reality (SIR).
About Seamless Immersive Reality (PoC 1)
Seamless Immersive Reality (SIR) represents a transformative leap in how we interact with digital environments, blending Virtual Reality (VR), Augmented Reality (AR), and Mixed Reality (XR) into rich, lifelike, multi-sensory experiences. These technologies have the potential to revolutionise industries such as entertainment, education, healthcare, and design.
However, turning this vision into reality requires addressing two major challenges:
- Current mobile hardware limitations, and
- The need for robust, low-latency, high-bandwidth wireless networks.
FLECON-6G’s PoC 1 aims to test and validate the performance of two key technological enablers:
- The Smart Marketplace, which allows real-time registration, discovery, and orchestration of distributed services and resources
- The APEC (Accelerated Programmable Edge Computing) framework, which supports near-data processing at the edge with ultra-low latency
These components are being evaluated against defined network-level KPIs and Key Value Indicators (KVIs) to support future seamless immersive applications.
ISE Demo Highlights
At ISE 2026, visitors experienced how the FLECON-6G architecture, featuring AI-native orchestration, intent-driven service composition, and Digital Twin-based control loops, can meet the demanding needs of XR content production in real-time, distributed environments. The demo illustrated the potential for 6G networks to transform creative workflows and immersive media deployment at scale.
